Guide Mike Winkler, now operating Little Red River Guide Service (501-690-9166, 501-507-3688), says the Little Red River generation schedule has been fairly consistent. Usually running 4-6 hours a day with generation starting around 1 p.m. till 6 p.m. throughout the week. On the weekends generation is minimal with excellent wading for the entire river. Concentrate on fishing the deep holes and oxygenated shoals. Stripping Woolly Buggers or Crackle Backs have been productive and nymphing under an indicator using Guide’s Choice Hare’s Ear 14, Pheasant soft hackle size 14, sowbugs size 14-18 and midges size 18.
